MSGOP Closes Qualifying Period for 2018 Republican Primary Elections

JACKSON, MS — The 2018 qualifying period for Republican Primary Elections officially closed on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. A total of 12 Republicans qualified to run for federal office throughout the state.

Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Lucien Smith gave the following statement after the qualifying deadline closed:

“Republicans are best equipped to address the needs facing Mississippians, and our voters continue to make that clear at the ballot box. We look forward to working with the winners of these primaries to ensure a Republican victory in November.”

The MSGOP State Executive Committee will convene within the coming days to certify the potential candidates.

The following is a list of those who submitted paperwork to the Mississippi Republican Party by today’s 5:00 p.m. deadline:
