Chairman’s Report: April 19, 2012
Chairman’s Report for April 19
Dear fellow Republican,
As I travel the state and meet with local Republicans, one thing I notice whether I am in Corinth or Vancleave is excitement. It is exciting to watch our newly elected Republicans – from Governor Bryant down to our local leaders – work to enact the conservative policies they campaigned on last year.
Last week was a busy one as I made multiple visits to North Mississippi. Last Monday I was in Starkville to speak with the Oktibbeha County Republican Party. Last year, Republicans in Oktibbeha County made historic gains by winning five county offices. I encourage you to keep up with the Oktibbeha County Republican Party by visiting their website here.
I also visited Corinth and spoke to the Northeast Mississippi Republican Club. Republicans had a great win in Alcorn County last year when Rita Parks knocked off incumbent Democrat Senator Eric Powell. You can find short video clips of my speech here.
After visiting Corinth, I traveled to Oxford to attend a forum at the Overby Center featuring Senator Roger Wicker. I was honored to be there in support of Senator Wicker, who has been a great Mississippi public servant for decades. He is up for re-election this fall, and we need to do all we can to send him back to Washington.
This morning I am traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona to attend the Republican National Committee State Chairmen’s meeting. We will work on organization, fundraising and other ways to ensure our national party is strong and ready to make Barack Obama a one-term president. We will also hear from Governor Mitt Romney who will speak at a luncheon tomorrow along with Senator John McCain.
Next week, I will speak to the Central Mississippi Tea Party on April 24. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Flowood Municipal Complex. For more information, please visit the Central Mississippi Tea Party’s website here.
If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact either the Party headquarters or email me directly at email@example.com.
Joe Nosef, Chairman
Mississippi Republican Party
