Chairman’s Report for July 3
Dear fellow Republican,
I have continued to travel the state to meet with local Republican leaders and groups. I recently had the opportunity to travel to Desoto County where I spoke with the Desoto County Republican Women and met with many of our elected officials. On July 19, I will be traveling to the Coast to visit with the Jackson County Republican Club.
The annual Neshoba County Fair, one of the great political speaking venues in the country, will run from July 27- August 3. At the end of August, we have the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, where Republicans from across the country will nominate Mitt Romney to be the next President of the United States.
We have said for months how important this presidential election is for our country however last week the United States Supreme Court raised the stakes even higher by ruling in favor of most of Obamacare.
It is now clear that the only way to prevent our government from dramatically expanding and stop the inevitable deterioration of the quality of our healthcare is to repeal and replace this law. The only way to do this is to elect Mitt Romney as our President; and, Republican majorities in the United States House and Senate.
Thank you again for your support of our Party and our Republican elected officials. I hope to see you on the road soon as I work to meet with Republicans in every corner of the state.
Finally, as we mark America’s 236th birthday tomorrow, please remember the men and women who have paid the ultimate price and those who are currently serving our country. These Americans have provided and continue to protect the freedoms we enjoy.
Chairman, Mississippi Republican Party
