Congratulates Speaker-designate Philip Gunn

JACKSON – The Mississippi Republican Party has issued a statement congratulating Speaker-designate Philip Gunn on his election by the Republican Caucus to become the next Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives.

“I want to congratulate Speaker-designate Philip Gunn, who will become the first Republican Speaker of the Mississippi House since Reconstruction,” said Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Arnie Hederman. “We are looking forward to Speaker-designate Gunn working together with Governor-elect Phil Bryant, Lieutenant Governor-elect Tate Reeves, and conservative legislators from both parties to enact a policy agenda that is right for Mississippi.”
