Governor Chris Christie headlines GOP luncheon, visits with Mississippians

Last week New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was the special guest at a lunch in Jackson benefiting the MSGOP and its candidates. Gov. Christie praised the leadership of Gov. Phil Bryant and other state Republican leaders. Gov. Christie and Gov. Bryant also visited Primos Cafe in Flowood to greet patrons and take questions from the press. Gov. Christie’s visit marks the third time in the last six months that a declared or potential 2016 Presidential candidate has come to Mississippi and participated in an event for the MSGOP, following U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

On Tuesday of last week, just as our Governor Phil Bryant was attending memorial services for fallen law enforcement officers, House Democrat Leader Bobby Moak and Public Service Commissioner candidate Cecil Brown amazingly held a press conference at the Capitol to attack the Governor. Certainly, politics is a contact sport, but for the top democrats in the state to attack the Governor just as he is trying to honor and respect public servants who have given the ultimate sacrifice shows just what horrific judgment the “leadership” of the Democrat Party has these days.
