Tuesday Morning Liberal Democrat Alert: Dirk Dedeaux
Liberal Democrat Alert
It’s Tuesday morning, and that means it’s time for our weekly Liberal Democrat Alert.
This week’s feature is on Representative Dirk Dedeaux of House District 93. Dirk Dedeaux was elected to the House in 1995 at just 23 years of age. Currently, portions of Hancock, Pearl River, Harrison, Stone, Forrest, and Lamar counties are represented in Jackson by House District 93.
This week’s featured legislation is HB 758, a bill Dirk Dedeaux wrote back in 2003: The Mississippi Critical Social Worker Shortage Act.
Dedeaux’s bill would use taxpayer dollars to pay the student loan bills of social workers who came to places where there was a “critical shortage” of them. This bill came just one year after Dedeaux voted in favor of a $120 million annual increase of the gas tax.
Help us win House District 93 with a small but generous contribution of just $9.30 today.
If you or someone you know lives in House District 93, ask Dirk Dedeaux why he wanted to spend your tax dollars to pay the student loan bills of social workers, just a year after he had voted to raise taxes on every gallon of gas you buy.
A legislator’s priorities are reflected in his record, and if HB 758 is any indicator, Dirk Dedeaux has a lot of explaining to do.
You can also help us elect a conservative in House District 93 this November by making a donation to the Mississippi Republican Party. We need your support to elect a Republican majority on November 8 and a Republican Speaker of the House next January.
